Job summary

K2 Space Corporation is hiring a Harness System Engineer to lead harness design for bus avionics, mechanisms, RF systems, and payloads on Mega and Giga satellites. You’ll define interfaces, create CAD drawings, and drive cost-saving design trades with a cross-functional team for high-reliability space hardware.

You will work in a fast-paced start-up, validating hardware through development and qualification tests, and coordinating with production and avionics teams to enable high-rate production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical harness design, routing, production, and system integration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high velocity start-up atmosphere.
• Creative problem solver capable of collaborative design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for harness system design for bus avionics, mechanisms, RF systems, and payloads.
• Define interface control documents for avionics boxes and bulkheads to optimize diagrams.
• Design, analyze, and release harnessing and mounting hardware in CAD and production drawings.
• Drive design trades to reduce cost and select harness components.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and technicians to ensure high reliability.
• Execute development and qualification testing of harness components for space missions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and integrate design.
• Manage project plan, milestones, and schedule execution.
