V2X Inc. is seeking a Harness Design Engineer in Indianapolis to design, validate, and sustain electrical wiring interconnections for military and civil platforms.
You will translate ICDs into robust interconnect architectures using AS50881, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and CREO tools, contributing across the full product lifecycle. The role requires a BS in a STEM field or 4+ years of experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance.
Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.
The Harness Design Engineer is responsible for the design, validation, and sustainment of electrical wiring interconnection systems that meet the stringent requirements of military and civil platforms. It integrates multidisciplinary technical expertise with compliance-driven execution to ensure that wire harnesses, connectors, and interface architectures conform to mission-critical standards such as AS50881 (wiring aerospace vehicles) and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (acceptability of cable and wire harness assemblies). This role also develops and releases complete interconnect technical data packages (TDPs) using PTC CREO Schematics and PTC CREO Parametric tools that conform to ASME Y14-series drafting standards. Interconnect Engineers serve as the bridge between electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering (integration), and manufacturing—translating interface requirements into robust, traceable, and certifiable interconnect solutions.
Harness Design Engineers are engaged throughout the full Product Lifecycle Management process. They advise on interface strategy during early design phases, support BOM development for interconnect components, enable integration during system build, and provide sustainment support for depot-level maintenance and upgrades.
At V2X Indianapolis, Harness Design Engineers support platforms ranging from ground systems to FAA and DoD aircraft, preferring experience in Aerospace, Electrical, RF, Mechanical Packaging, and Systems Integration. Their work ensures that every signal and power path is engineered for reliability, maintainability, and compliance—ready for deployment in the most demanding operational environments.
Travel: Limited, in support of program objectives.
