Job summary

Floor Coverings International of Shelby Township is seeking experienced hardwood installers and refinishing specialists to join our subcontractor team. You will handle hardwood installation and refinishing projects, representing our brand in customers’ homes.

We require 5+ years hands-on experience, a sharp eye for detail, and own tools/transportation to multiple job sites in Michigan. Work runs 9am–5pm or until completion, with steady, scheduled jobs for the right fit.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardwood installation or sand & refinish work.
• Proven attention to detail: tight seams, clean transitions, consistent finish.
• Understanding of subfloor prep, moisture considerations, and species-specific handling.

Responsibilities

• Mix of new hardwood installation and sand-and-finish/refinish projects.
• Subcontractor role — jobs assigned as they come in to keep a few installers busy.
• Jobs sourced and scheduled for you; you’ll be representing the company in customers’ homes.
