Job summary

Amazon in Austin, Texas is seeking a Security Engineer for the Hardware Supply Chain Security (HSCS) team to help guide our global hardware supplier and manufacturing security program. You will assess risk in partner manufacturing and logistics and contribute to defense mechanisms across the SDLC.

The role emphasizes hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, and coordinating with suppliers and data centers worldwide to keep the AWS supply chain secure and compliant with security controls.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship) experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent
  • Experience with web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship)
  • Experience solving basic problems by writing code or scripts with some assistance
  • Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings

Responsibilities

  • Assess and prioritize security findings and recommend appropriate mitigations
  • Perform hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, and manufacturing security validation
  • Security training and outreach to internal teams and external supply chain partners
  • Travel as needed to provide insight and feedback to suppliers and data centers around the world
