Together AI in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Security Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You’ll design and prototype security solutions across hardware, firmware, OS, and cloud services, with emphasis on AI infrastructure and secure boot chains.

You will own a focused project and present results with mentorship. The role requires a foundational CS/engineering degree, strong Python or Bash skills, and interest in hardware security, embedded systems, and platform security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree by Summer 2028 in a relevant field.
• Foundational understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, networking, embedded systems, or electronics.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Bash.
• Exposure to hardware security, embedded security, platform security, or secure systems design is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, prototype, and assess security solutions for AI infrastructure across hardware, firmware, OS, and cloud services.
• Support secure platform lifecycle: device onboarding, provisioning, inventory, and configuration validation.
• Build automation and internal tools in Python or Bash to collect telemetry, detect drift, or aid investigations.
• Prototype AI-assisted security tools for asset classification and anomaly detection.
• Research confidential computing, remote attestation, or hardware roots of trust, and share findings.
• Own a well-scoped project from start to finish with mentorship, delivering clean, documented code.

The estimated US hourly rate for this role is $58. Our hourly rates are determined by location, level, and role.
