Job summary

Ace Hardware is seeking a part-time or full-time Hardware Sales Associate to provide exceptional customer service. You will greet customers, help with plumbing/electrical/fastener questions, restock, and assist with keys and basic store tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and weekend availability. Prior customer service experience is preferred. Training for product areas will be provided.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• GREET ALL CUSTOMERS IN A FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER.
• ASSIST CUSTOMERS WITH PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, AND FASTENER QUESTIONS (TRAINING AVAILABLE).
• ENSURE CUSTOMERS HAVE ALL SUPPLIES NEEDED TO COMPLETE PROJECT.
• COMPLETE DAILY MAINTENANCE ON KEY MACHINES.
• RESTOCK AREA WITH ALL SUPPLIES.
• ASSIST AND SUPPORT OTHER AREAS OF THE STORE TO PROMOTE GREAT TEAMWORK.
• UPDATE PRICING STICKERS AS NEEDED.
• ASSIST WITH PUTTING AWAY PRODUCT ORDERS.
• DUPLICATE CUSTOMER HOUSE AND AUTOMOTIVE KEYS.

Job Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to work on a weekend rotation
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds frequently
• Must possess the ability to stay on task & complete work in a timely manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to follow company policies
• Previous experience in customer service (preferred)
• The ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Strong phone communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to stand for 6 hours at a time
