Job summary

Pi-Square Technologies LLC in Novi, MI is seeking a Hardware Lead to define hardware architecture for automotive compute platforms and translate system requirements into hardware specs. You will lead schematic capture, component selection and qualification, and drive design reviews across cross-functional teams.

You will oversee board bring-up, debugging, and validation, including SI/PI analyses, EMI/EMC testing, and burn-in.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive embedded platforms and hardware/software interfaces.
• Familiarity with automotive suppliers and OEM programs is a plus.
• Exposure to Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and ASIL concepts is desirable.
• Ability to translate system requirements into hardware specifications.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware architecture for automotive compute platforms.

• Support multi-layer high-speed PCB design and reviews.
• Perform SI/PI, timing and WCCA analyses.
• Lead board bring-up, debugging and root cause analysis.
• Execute functional validation, EMI/EMC, environmental and burn-in testing.
• Drive design reviews, technical governance and product release.
• Coordinate with software, mechanical, PCB, vendors and customer teams.
• Mentor engineering teams and lead customer technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define hardware architecture for automotive compute platforms.
• Translate customer and system requirements into hardware specifications.
• Develop Hardware Software Interface Specifications.
• Lead schematic capture, circuit design, component selection and qualification.
• Support multi-layer high-speed PCB design and reviews.
• Perform Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), Timing and Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA).
• Lead board bring-up, debugging and root cause analysis.
• Execute functional validation, EMI/EMC, environmental and burn-in testing.
• Drive design reviews, technical governance and product release.
• Coordinate with software, mechanical, PCB, vendors and customer teams.
• Mentor engineering teams and lead customer technical discussions.
