Job summary

Nokia Federal Solutions Inc. seeks a Hardware Integration & Verification Engineer to test, integrate, and validate complex electronic systems.

You will develop verification plans, integrate hardware and firmware, and troubleshoot during product development while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on lab experience, perform test automation, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to requirements traceability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in hardware verification, system integration, electronics testing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Understanding digital, RF, and power supply circuitry.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, RF generators, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers).
  • Strong Python programming skills for test automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute hardware verification plans, test procedures, and test cases.
  • Integrate electrical hardware, mechanical enclosures, firmware, and system components.
  • Lead failure analysis and troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues.
  • Develop automated test scripts with Python to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Support EMI/EMC, thermal, and safety verification and maintain traceability from requirements to tests.

We are seeking a Hardware Integration & Verification Engineer to support the testing, integration, and validation of complex electronic systems. This role will develop and execute hardware verification plans, integrate electrical hardware, mechanical components, and firmware, and troubleshooting issues throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience with hardware verification, system integration, and electronics testing, along with strong problem-solving skills and hands‑on laboratory experience. The engineer will also contribute to test automation, compliance verification, and requirements traceability while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Test Development & Verification
  • Design, develop, document, and execute detailed hardware verification plans, test procedures, and test cases.
  • Translate product and system requirements into clear, measurable verification criteria.
  • Develop test methods to validate hardware performance, functionality, reliability, and interoperability.
  • Analyze test results, document findings, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
System Integration
  • Integrate electrical hardware, mechanical enclosures, firmware, and other system components to validate overall system functionality.
  • Support system‑level bring‑up, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Work closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to identify and resolve integration issues.
  • Support prototype development and product verification through various stages of the development lifecycle.
Failure Analysis & Debugging
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex hardware and hardware/software integration issues.
  • Troubleshoot intermittent and difficult‑to‑reproduce failures using structured diagnostic techniques.
  • Use laboratory equipment and test data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Document failures, test results, and resolutions to support product quality and continuous improvement.
Test Automation
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
  • Automate regression testing, data collection, analysis, and environmental stress testing were appropriate.
  • Develop tools and processes that improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
  • Analyze test data and generate meaningful results to support engineering decisions.
Compliance & Standards Verification
  • Support regulatory and product compliance testing, including EMI/EMC, thermal, and safety requirements.
  • Lead the team in determining the applicability of industry and regulatory standards to products.
  • Develop internal test plans and coordinate testing with external certification and compliance laboratories.
  • Maintain product requirements traceability from requirements through verification and test cases.
  • Ensure verification activities are properly documented and aligned with applicable standards and product requirements.
