Job summary

Kostal of America, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with a Hardware Focus to support the development, integration, and validation of electronic control modules.

This internship offers hands-on experience working with experienced engineers to translate system and customer requirements into hardware features, perform bench and vehicle tests, and collaborate across hardware, software, and validation teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, hardware interfaces, and hardware schematics.
• Willingness to work hands-on with hardware, benches, and vehicle test environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and documenting customer, system, and hardware requirements for electronic control modules.
• Support system and hardware-level analysis, including circuit interface behavior and test setup.
• Participate in bench and vehicle testing activities, data collection and initial analysis.
• Use lab equipment to support testing and troubleshooting, and document results.
• Contribute to design reviews, schematic reviews, and cross-functional discussions.
