Job summary

MedRock Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Hardware Engineer I to design and build custom hardware for the Med-Dots platform. You will prototype sensor and microcontroller devices, write firmware, and integrate hardware with our software stack, from concept to production.

This early-career role is ideal for a hands-on builder who enjoys CAD/3D printing, enclosure design, and collaborating with software teams to define data contracts and device behavior.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated builder with microcontrollers and electronics; soldering and 3D printing/CAD preferred.
  • Experience with serial communication and device-host integration.
  • Strong documentation and on-site collaboration skills.
  • Experience with peripherals (scales, scanners, printers) is a plus.
  • Medical, dental, vision and auxiliary benefits provided.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and build custom hardware devices for the Med-Dots platform.
  • Write firmware and integration code to connect devices to our platform.
  • Iterate from breadboard to production: schematics, enclosures, and small-run assembly.
  • Collaborate with software to define device behavior and data contracts.
  • Evaluate and integrate commercial hardware or build custom solutions when needed.
  • Test reliability, define failure modes, and create troubleshooting guides.
  • Support the deployed fleet with drivers and firmware updates.
