Job summary

Meta is seeking an AI Accelerator Module Validation Engineer to own validation test plans for server and AI/HPC modules, coordinating with Electrical, Thermal, and Firmware teams across EVT–PVT stages.

The role emphasizes deep expertise in electrical/thermal validation, test automation, and collaboration with ODM/JDM partners to ensure quality before mass production. Strong experience with ESS/HASS and SI/PI is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a technical discipline required.
• 8+ years hardware validation/test engineering experience in data center/AI/HPC environments.
• 4+ years validating electrical, thermal and mechanical domains.
• Experience with server module architectures (DDR4/DDR5/HBM, PCIe/CXL/NVLink) and power delivery.
• 4+ years lab experience with electrical test equipment (O-scopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
• Experience with ODM/JDM partners (Asia) and industry standards (JEDEC, OCP, Intel/AMD).
• 8+ years ESS/HASS and accelerated life testing experience.
• 8+ years signal integrity and power integrity validation experience.
• Scripting for test automation and data analysis (Python, Bash).
• 5+ years ASIC/accelerator module validation experience (GPU/TPU/etc).
• Strong data analysis using statistical methods (Cpk, GR&R, Weibull).
• Experience scaling validation to high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive module-specific validation test plans across the full product lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP).
• Execute electrical, thermal, signal integrity, and power delivery validation testing for server and AI/HPC modules.
• Advance test plans and methodologies for comprehensive functional, performance, reliability, and compliance coverage.
• Evaluate ODM/JDM partner testing plans and results to meet Meta standards.
• Allocate equipment and resources to meet testing milestones.
• Develop and maintain validation test procedures, specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform root cause analysis on test escapes and field returns; drive corrective actions.

About

The Hardware Design, Rack-scale Technology and Platforms (HDRTP) engineering team designs, develops, validates, and delivers the hardware modules and platforms that power Meta's AI and HPC infrastructure, deployed in data centers worldwide. Our work is published for industry adoption through the Open Compute Project Foundation. We are looking for a skilled AI Accelerator Module Validation Engineer to join our team. The Module Validation Engineer will own and drive module-specific test plans and testing in conjunction with module Electrical Engineers and Power Engineers. The role involves working in a cross-functional environment with multiple parallel programs on production paths. This role is critical to ensuring Meta's module and MTIA roadmap modules meet quality, reliability, and performance requirements before entering mass production. The engineer will partner with ODM partners to ensure vendor-owned testing meets Meta standards and will advance test methodologies across the accelerator module product portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive module-specific validation test plans across the full product lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP) in conjunction with module EE and Power Engineers


• Execute and oversee electrical, thermal, signal integrity, and power delivery validation testing for server and AI/HPC modules


• Advance test plans and methodologies across module products, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, reliability, and compliance requirements


• Evaluate and ensure ODM/JDM partner (e.g., Quanta) testing plans, procedures, and results meet Meta's quality and reliability standards


• Ensure equipment, resources, and contingent workers are effectively allocated and driving closure for module testing milestones


• Develop, document, and maintain validation test procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria


• Perform root cause analysis and failure analysis on test escapes and field returns, driving corrective actions to closure


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Thermal, Firmware, and Supply Chain to ensure holistic product readiness


• Define and track validation metrics and KPIs; provide regular status updates and risk assessments to program leadership


• Drive continuous improvement of test infrastructure, automation, and lab capabilities to support scaling across multiple parallel programs


• Partner with Data Center Site Operations and NPI teams to incorporate field feedback into validation requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline


• 8+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or product qualification in a server, networking, or high-performance computing environment


• 4+ years of experience developing and executing validation test plans covering electrical, thermal, and mechanical domains


• Knowledge of server module architectures including memory (DDR4/DDR5/HBM), high-speed I/O (PCIe, CXL, NVLink), and power delivery systems


• 4+ years of experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems


• Demonstrated expertise performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions across cross-functional teams


• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent validation programs


• Experience conveying technical findings in writing and verbally to engineering and non-engineering audiences (e.g., validation reports, test summaries, program reviews) MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field


• 8+ years of experience in hardware validation or test engineering for data center or AI/HPC products


• Experience working directly with ODM/JDM manufacturing partners in Asia (e.g., Quanta, Foxconn, Wistron)


• Familiarity with industry standards such as JEDEC, OCP, and Intel/AMD platform validation methodologies


• 8+ years of experience with environmental stress screening (ESS), HALT/HASS, and accelerated life testing


• 8+ years of experience with signal integrity and power integrity validation (eye diagram analysis, jitter measurement, PDN impedance characterization)


• Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash) for test automation and data analysis


• 5+ years of experience with ASIC/accelerator module validation (GPU, TPU, or custom AI accelerator modules)


• Knowledge of statistical methods for test data analysis (Cpk, GR&R, Weibull analysis)


• Prior experience scaling validation processes from prototype to high-volume manufacturing
