Job summary

Quanta Manufacturing Fremont is seeking a Hardware Engineer to drive failure analysis and debugging across server and networking platforms. You will own issue debugging, provide actionable insights, and support reliability, manufacturability, and quality improvements.

This position is on-site in Fremont, CA and sits within the Engineering Services team, collaborating across departments to assist engineering and operations with electronics, software, and systems integration expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of professional hardware development, validation, or manufacturing support.
  • Experience with server hardware, networks, and integration is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze failures and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis and debugging of hardware across platforms.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and ramp-up activities.
  • Create detailed test reports and maintain traceable documentation.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to meet project goals.
  • Support additional engineering tasks as assigned.

Job Summary

Hardware Engineer will contribute to the failure analysis of hardware products across platforms such as servers and networking equipment. This role will take ownership of issue debugging and conduct in-depth failure analyses. The Hardware Engineer will support engineering and production teams by providing actionable insights that improve product reliability, manufacturability, and quality.

Salary: $90,000 - $150,000
Location: Onsite - Fremont, CA
Job Summary

Hardware Engineer will contribute to the failure analysis of hardware products across platforms such as servers and networking equipment. This role will take ownership of issue debugging and conduct in-depth failure analyses. The Hardware Engineer will support engineering and production teams by providing actionable insights that improve product reliability, manufacturability, and quality.

This position is part of the Engineering Services team, which works across departments to support the engineering and operation teams with technical expertise in electronics, operational software, and systems integration.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Failure Analysis and Debugging: Investigate of hardware failures during development or production. Identify root causes, propose solutions, and support corrective action implementation.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Participate in product transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing. Translate engineering specifications into operational guidance, and support ramp-up through documentation, feedback, and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation: Produce detailed reports on test outcomes, debug findings, and engineering support activities. Maintain thorough documentation for traceability and future reference.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on support for cross-functional teams by addressing hardware-related issues during testing, pilot builds, or production runs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure timely execution of deliverables aligned with team and project goals.
  • Other Duties: Support additional engineering tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities

Due to the cross-functional nature of the team’s responsibilities, candidates with a solid and practical foundation in electronics and hardware system integration are highly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of server systems, including hardware components and diagnostic procedures.
  • Familiarity with hardware such as network switches, power distribution systems, and personal computing devices, with the ability to assist in their integration or troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of computer hardware architecture, including experience applying concepts like PCI-e, USB, and system buses in test or debug scenarios.
  • Proficient with test and measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and soldering/rework equipment, with experience applying them in lab or production environments.
  • Experience working with or troubleshooting management protocols (e.g., Redfish, IPMI) during validation or issue resolution.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite for documenting procedures, reporting test results, and communicating technical findings.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
  • Clear and concise technical communication skills for both documentation and team collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of handling assigned tasks independently while supporting broader team goals.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in hardware development, validation, or manufacturing support.
