Garmin Ltd. in Salem, OR is seeking a full-time Hangar and Aircraft Utility Associate to keep Garmin aircraft and hangar facilities clean, fueled, and ready for operations.

The role includes inspections of the fuel farm and receipt of fuel, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule. Candidates should have at least 10 years of towing/fueling aviation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years towing and fueling aviation aircraft.
  • Aircraft fueling and towing experience.
  • Experience maintaining an aviation fuel farm.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with positive attitude in a high-tempo environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces/ heights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Provide aircraft ground support including fueling, towing and wing walking.
  • Maintain appearance of Garmin aircraft and perform refueling/defueling.
  • Stage aircraft in hangars using aircraft tugs.
  • Inspect and document fuel farm operations.
  • Maintain hangar facilities and grounds.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on support equipment.
  • Track fuel farm inventory and perform fuel receiving inspections.
  • Adhere to DOT requirements and safety inspections.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Perform minor facility repairs with standard hand tools.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Hangar and Aircraft Utility Associate at Garmin's location in Salem, OR. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of Garmin’s aircraft, hangar facilities, and support equipment and maintaining the aircraft fuel farm by performing required inspections and receipt of fuel.

Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Essential Functions
  • Provide aircraft ground support which includes fueling, towing and wing walking
  • Maintain the appearance of Garmin aircraft, including washing, polishing and vacuuming interiors and perform aircraft refueling / defueling
  • Stage aircraft efficiently in hangars using a variety of aircraft tugs
  • Perform and document fuel farm inspections
  • General upkeep of hangar facilities and grounds
  • Perform preventative maintenance on support equipment to ensure a high state of readiness
  • Track aviation fuel farm inventory and perform fuel receiving inspections
  • Work a flexible schedule when needed
  • Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
  • Perform and document Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections and monthly safety inspections of the facility
  • Perform minor facility repairs using standard hand tools
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND a minimum 10 years experience towing and fueling general aviation aircraft
  • Aircraft fueling and towing experience
  • Experience maintaining an aviation fuel farm
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others in a high-tempo environment
  • Must possess the ability to routinely bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs. while using safe lifting techniques; pushing/pulling equipment up to 200 lbs.; standing and sitting for extended periods of time; kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling; climbing and utilizing ladders to connect cables and walking long distances throughout the facility; repetitive motion; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet
  • Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
