Job summary

Planned Companies Building Services (PBS) is hiring friendly and detail-oriented Janitors and Custodians to provide common area and bathroom cleaning services for residential and commercial properties.

You will help ensure tenants, guests and vendors have a clean, healthy, and safe property to live or work in, while being polite, respectful, and thorough in your duties. Strong teamwork and communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds or more.
• Experience using cleaning products and floor cleaning equipment.
• Able to work as part of a team or independently when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Request cleaning supplies and report breakages or repairs.
• Assist building management with projects and duties as requested.
• Perform handyman tasks as needed.
• Light painting and floor care (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping).
• Dusting, sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens, and cleaning windows.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas to protect tenant health.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: Queens, NY

Pay: $32.60/hour

Summary

Residential and commercial property owners, now more than ever, realize how big a role Janitors play in protecting the health of tenants, guests, and vendors. So, Planned Companies Building Services (PBS) is looking to hire friendly and detail-oriented Janitors and Custodians to provide common area and bathroom cleaning services.

You'll be ensuring tenants, guests and vendors have a clean, healthy and safe property to live or work in. It's important to be polite and respectful as well as thorough and observant of what more can be done to provide the highest level of service.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Requesting cleaning supply orders, reporting breakages and needed repairs.
• Assisting building management with all projects and all other job duties as requested.
• Lighthandyman duties
• Light painting
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
• Stripping, buffing and waxing floors of various types as well.
• Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Emptying trash cans as well as washing and drying windows.

Requirements:

• Willing to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Experience in similar roles using cleaning products, equipment to clean floors and carpets.
• Able to work on a team as well as independently when needed.
• Strong report writing and clear verbal communication skills.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
