Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on call as needed.
Anticipated Travel
50% of the time. Company vehicle will be used. No additional compensation for travel.

Summary of Position Responsibilities
The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a versatile skill set and the ability to work independently to address a wide range of issues. The Handyman plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of properties.
Scheduled Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Fix and troubleshoot issues with doors, windows, locks, and other fixtures.
- Repair or replace damaged drywall, tiles, flooring, and other surfaces.
- Paint interior and exterior surfaces to maintain or enhance appearance.
- Install and assemble furniture, shelving, appliances, and other items.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients or tenants.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, tenants, and property managers.
Unscheduled Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist supervisor with work related requests.
- Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.
- Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.
- Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.
Physical Demands
- Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and regularly drive a motor vehicle.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, heights, and tight spaces.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain situations.
Competency / Experience
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
- Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Continuous learning and willingness to expand skills and knowledge.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification is a plus.
Required Certification / License
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
