Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Atkins, VA is seeking a Production Worker to join the PowerGrids division.

You will perform general labor to manufacture dry type transformers for distribution and power transformer markets, with openings in Assembly, Welding, and Support departments. Responsibilities include following directions in a heavy manufacturing setting, adhering to safety and quality processes, using drawings to wind and assemble components, and aiding in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Candidate must already have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions to perform tasks in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Comply with safety and quality procedures and policies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Read engineering drawings to wind, assemble, and fabricate products to meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Manually assemble materials used in transformer manufacturing.
• Operate winding machines (semi-automatic and manual).
• Use equipment to fabricate materials such as coil, insulation, wire, etc.
• Check schedules and update manufacturing status using a computer.
• Complete paperwork and records as required.
• Operate cranes and fork trucks for material handling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend team meetings and communicate with other departments.
• Cross-train in multiple skills and train other employees.
• Potential overtime including weekends.
