Job summary

Pipestone is seeking a Swine Technician to help care for pigs in our production facility. You will monitor health, assist with daily husbandry, feeding, and welfare, and support breeding and farrowing activities.

This role requires working in a busy farm environment, adhering to animal welfare and biosecurity policies, with flexible hours including weekends. No experience required; training provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Experience in animal husbandry or swine production preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health and well-being of swine and ensure proper nutrition.
• Follow production protocols to maximize sow and gilt production.
• Administer vaccinations and other health treatments.
• Maintain clean, sanitary barns and facilities.
• Record animal health data accurately and timely.
• Assist with farrowing, breeding activities, and gestation checks.
• Ensure access to feed, air, and water.
• Operate and maintain swine production equipment.
• Communicate with farm management and staff.
• Adhere to welfare, biosecurity regulations and company policies.
