Job summary

COST of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a hands-on shop supervisor to lead packaging, shipping/receiving, and building maintenance in a fast-paced production environment. You will plan daily work, assign priorities, and develop employees to meet project and customer standards.

You will monitor workflow, ensure safety, and coordinate maintenance and scheduling while controlling quality and efficiency. This role reports to the director and requires leadership, reliability, and a focus on process

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; able to obtain a DOT.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, and blueprints.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
• Experience with hand tools, small power tools, multimeters, and test equipment.
• Construction-related experience, four+ years of division-specific experience, and relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop team members while addressing performance concerns.
• Plan and assign work based on project schedules, quality and shipping requirements, and priorities.
• Monitor workflow and productivity, inspect work, maintain records, and report progress to the director.
• Oversee packaging materials, labeling, documentation, quality checks, and completion to specs.
• Supervise inbound/outbound scheduling, carrier coordination, and handling discrepancies or damage claims.
• Keep materials and finished goods organized, protected, and routed appropriately.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, work orders, inspections; supervise custodial activities and vendors.
• Review timecards and time-off requests; enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Train employees on equipment, material handling, shipping/receiving, housekeeping, and safety procedures.
