Job summary

Penn State's Office of Science Outreach is hiring Summer Program Assistants for the Science-U camps on the University Park campus. You will help with materials, databases, and camp communications while engaging with K-12 students in a hands-on learning environment.

We offer a 40-hour work week during camps with an hourly wage starting at $12.70, plus lunch and professional development opportunities. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm to work with K-12 students and share science.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job.
• Reliability and ability to follow a schedule in advance.
• Clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist administrative team in preparing camp materials (rosters, documents).
• Maintain various databases.
• Assist with marketing efforts such as the Science-U newsletter.
• Provide on-site assistance at all camps.
• Other duties as assigned.
