Job summary

Chick-fil-A Alpine Avenue in Walker, MI is seeking a mechanically inclined maintenance technician/handyman to keep our restaurant and kitchen equipment in top condition. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep, while also cross-training to support the kitchen team when not on maintenance duty.

The role offers part-time or full-time options with a starting pay of $18–$19 per hour, based on availability, experience, and mechanical competency.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on handyman/repair experience — no certification required, we’ll train
• Background in facilities maintenance, restaurant equipment, HVAC, or general repair is a plus
• Comfortable using basic hand tools, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around commercial kitchen equipment
• At least 18, legally authorized to work in the U.S., reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule; change fryer oil, replace HVAC filters, service kitchen equipment
• Handle general repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues — classic handyman work
• Keep maintenance records organized; flag concerns to leadership before they grow
• Cross-train in the kitchen: food prep, stations, catering orders, stocking, opening/closing
