Job summary

MJ Recruiters, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer – Rubber or Plastics for a high-visibility, hands-on role on the Akron shop floor. You will lead process optimization in a state-of-the-art molding environment with direct access to leadership and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.

You will spend ~80% on the manufacturing floor, drive line improvements, and own cross-functional projects from concept through implementation, including tooling and fixtures.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, ideally Mechanical Engineering, is highly preferred
• At least 2–5 years of similar manufacturing and/or process engineering experience
• Experience working in plastic or rubber injection, blow or compression molding
• 2D/3D modeling experience
• Project management of timelines
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Microsoft Office, including Excel

Responsibilities

• Oversee support production and execute varied engineering initiatives in a high-speed injection molding facility
• Support production lines to increase efficiencies and reduce scrap
• Lead root-cause analysis projects and troubleshoot downtime
• Model line layouts and fixtures using 2D/3D tools to improve processes
• Assist with new product activities, documentation and project management
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues on the shop floor
• Collaborate with operations to improve KPIs and production initiatives
• Create work instructions and manufacturing documentation
• Coordinate with external tool shops for tooling needs
• Justify costs on new projects and equipment
• Potential future oversight of capital equipment projects, timelines, and budgets
