Job summary

Constellation Energy Corporation in Westbrook, ME is seeking highly motivated Engineering students for Power Operations Engineering Internships for 2027 to work in person at the Westbrook Energy Center. These paid internships run for about 10 weeks from June 7 to August 13, 2027, with interns performing projects under supervision and a technical mentor.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Junior standing, preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in field locations, in a hands-on environment.
• Willingness to adhere to plant safety standards, procedures, and practices.
• Good comprehension of basic engineering practices.
• Good problem solving and analytical ability.
• Strong computer skills especially in the use of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organization skills and attention to details are essential.
• Must be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment.
• Must be able to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Utilize plant data systems to access equipment performance and reliability.
• Perform water treatment chemistry.
• Perform equipment inspections.
• Update maintenance documentation and work management system.
• Update and modify plant drawings and equipment lists.
• Assist with predictive maintenance data recording and analysis.
• Assist plant staff with engineering projects and contract management.
• Assist with mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, inspections and troubleshooting while under the direct supervision of a Calpine employee.
• Report to Plant Engineer and take day-to-day instructions, both written and verbal, from the Plant Operator, Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager.
