Job summary

Mi Escuela Montessori in Lakeland/Bartow, FL seeks a Middle School Science Teacher for 7th and 8th grades. This part-time role can become full-time when combined with Social Studies, emphasizing hands-on inquiry-based science in an interdisciplinary setting.

You will collaborate with ELA, Math, Spanish and Social Studies teachers to design immersive units and real-world investigations, using Central Florida lakes and local ecosystems as living labs for student exploration.

Qualifications

• Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Middle Grades General Science (5–9) or ability to obtain.
• Bilingual Spanish/English encouraged in our immersion community.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary, hands-on learning and inquiry-based science.

Responsibilities

• Teach 7th and 8th grade science in a part-time role (with potential full-time when paired with Social Studies).
• Collaborate with ELA, Math, Spanish and Social Studies teachers to design immersive, student-centered units.
• Develop place-based, hands-on projects using Central Florida ecosystems and local geology.
• Support diverse learners with targeted interventions and different modalities of assessment.

Education
