Job summary

Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Medical Director who will remain an active clinician with a patient panel while providing hands‑on clinical leadership to the provider team.

The role combines direct patient care with administrative duties in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with senior leadership. The Medical Director works with the CMO to balance patient care and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics (required); maintained throughout employment.
• Current, unrestricted Oklahoma medical license in good standing.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a practicing clinician within a primary care panel, modeling clinical standards.
• Serve as primary supervisor for all clinical providers on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Conduct regular one‑on‑one check‑ins, performance conversations, and real-time clinical coaching.
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, and ongoing performance evaluations for licensed clinical staff in coordination with CMO/COO.
• Facilitate regular provider meetings, case conferences, and clinical education sessions.
• Address provider concerns, workflow barriers, and clinical questions, escalating issues to the CMO.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor across service lines, including integrated behavioral health teams.
• Lead provider participation in Quality Improvement programs, develop QI plans, metrics, and benchmarks.
