Job summary

Viltis is seeking an Engineering Test Technician I/II to support a medical device client in Plymouth, MN. The role involves extensive hands-on laboratory testing and collaboration with engineers in a fast-paced R&D setting.

You will perform mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests, document results per GDP, and help maintain equipment and safety practices on-site. A strong mechanical mindset and detail orientation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of technical, laboratory, manufacturing, or testing experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience documenting technical work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, dimensional, OD, and visual testing on medical devices.
• Execute testing per written protocols, work Instructions, and engineering procedures.
• Accurately document test results using GDP.
• Communicate observations, data, and results with engineering teams clearly.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Operate lab equipment (Calipers, MTS, Multimeters, Thermometers, Force gauges, Cognex, LabVIEW, hand tools).
• Assist engineers with test setup, fixture prep, and troubleshooting.
• Support continuous improvement in the lab.
