Job summary

Apex Water and Process Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a hands-on mechanic with a background in mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC work to join a fast-growing team building custom water treatment systems.

You’ll assemble pumps, valves, pipes, and sensors on unique skid-mounted systems, following P&IDs and GA drawings. This role emphasizes safety, craftsmanship, and opportunities for growth, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Six (6) months hands-on experience in mechanical, plumbing or HVAC work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret blueprints, P&IDs, or schematics.
• Experience installing or fabricating piping, pumps, and mechanical components.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in a shop environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills, cross-train in related areas, and adapt as the company grows.
• Commitment to maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install pumps, valves, filters, sensors, and piping on custom-built water treatment systems.
• Work from P&IDs, GA drawings, and production prints to bring designs to life.
• Build and test piping systems (PVC, CPVC, PE, PVDF, PFA, and other materials).
• Assist in factory acceptance testing (FAT) to ensure quality before shipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, controls, and service teams to troubleshoot and refine system performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, prioritizing safety and quality.
• Train and assist newer team members as you grow in your own technical skills.
• Each day brings different projects, configurations, and challenges that keep the work hands-on.
