Nucor Steel Florida’s Technical Academy in Frostproof, FL, trains individuals with a high school diploma to become entry-level maintenance technicians or operators within two years. The program blends classroom instruction with hands-on training, conducted onsite with NSFL and in partnership with SFSC.

Safety is paramount; the academy prepares trainees to uphold safety standards, with hands-on tasks alongside seasoned NSFL maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Current high school transcript (2.75 GPA preferred). Including the first semester of your senior year in High School.
• ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores: upload to application packet if available and if not available, candidate must provide before interview.
• One-page essay explaining how your work history, activities, or other interests make you a good candidate for this training program. Include your career or educational goals.

• Interested candidates must also complete a separate application to South Florida State College.
