Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in New London, CT is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service equipment such as JLG lifts, emergency generators, transporter modules, golf carts, utility vehicles, and small engine/snow equipment, and to support fuel truck operations and winter conditions.

Requirements include 3+ years of field or repair shop experience with small engines, hydraulic and air systems, and basic electrical systems, plus a High School diploma or GED and a basic tool set up to 1"

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• 3+ years of field experience or experience within a repair shop/garage setting with small engines, hydraulic and air systems, and basic equipment electrical systems.
• Basic mechanics’ tool set up to 1” and 25mm in metrics.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain EB equipment such as JLGs, generators, transporter modules, golf carts and other small engines.
• Support fuel truck operations and snow/ice conditions.
• Make decisions with minimal supervision, and maintain a safe, organized work area.
• Plan and coordinate multiple projects in a busy garage setting.
