Job summary

IPG Photonics is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician II for the 2nd shift in Oxford, MA. You will support production by maintaining critical equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to maximize uptime and safety.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, learning, and collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams to improve reliability and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a methodical approach to troubleshooting equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures, diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain critical equipment through routine maintenance, inspection, cleaning, adjustments, and repairs.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and monitor operating conditions and equipment health indicators.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, control-related, and small electronic assembly issues; perform basic soldering and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with equipment installation, calibrations, qualification, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
• Partner with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety, quality, and technical procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
