Job summary

Search Services is seeking an experienced Controller for their Houston-based construction company. The role involves overseeing all aspects of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and cash flow management, with a strong emphasis on construction experience and a hands-on approach. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, managing budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5-15+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 5-15+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience strongly desirable.
• Prior experience in the construction industry, including percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and compliance reporting.
• Lead company cash flow planning and projections.
• Ensure adherence to a strong framework of financial controls.
• Perform and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare monthly WIP schedule.
• Track and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Serve as the primary lead during the annual financial statement audit.
• Manage overall budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support financial decision-making with owners and executives.
• Manage special projects and other assignments as needed.
