Job summary

Permian Resources seeks an AI Engineer in Midland, TX to lead the hands-on design and delivery of production AI systems from day one. You will shape the AI function, build a small high-leverage team, and drive integration across data platforms, including Azure Databricks.

Responsibilities include lifecycle ownership of models, governance, and performance monitoring, with a growth path toward in-house capabilities and strategic partnerships where appropriate. This role reports to the Head of AI.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience building AI production systems.
• Experience deploying models with MLOps and monitoring.
• Strong leadership or mentoring experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Own hands-on architecture and delivery of production AI systems from day one.
• Define and shape the AI function's next roles and growth path.
• Lead and develop a small team or operate with broad authority across a hub-and-spoke model.
• Own the full lifecycle of models and agents in production, including validation and monitoring.
• Contribute to a data and AI layer strategy across the organization.
