Job summary

Federal Express Corporation seeks a non-driving package handler to move and sort packages, documents and supplies safely and efficiently at our facility. The role relies on scan/load methods and on-site teamwork.

Ideal candidates can lift 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and complete required training. Shifts include early morning and evening windows with background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level, and lift heavier packages with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Able to walk and stand for designated work hours, bend, squat, and climb stairs/ladders as required.
• Able to work in all weather conditions and communicate effectively in a noisy operations environment.
• Must complete all basic and recurring training.

Responsibilities

• Move packages, documents, dangerous goods and supplies using scan/load methods.

Provides movement of packages, documents, dangerous goods and/or supply support in a timely, safe and efficient manner through effective scan/load methods. This is a non-driving position (public roadways). Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level and ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Able to walk and stand for designated work hours. Able to bend and squat for designated work hours. Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level. Ability to maneuver packages in enclosed spaces and stack packages above one's head if required at location. Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location. Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location. Able to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment, is required.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Pay Range

Shift1: Mon- Fri, 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM; Shift 2: Mon to Fri, 4:.45 PM to 8:00 PM; Pay rate: 17.20/per hour + 3.00 pay premium; must complete and pass a drug screen and a criminal background check
