Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is recruiting for a West Bend, WI manufacturer to add a hands-on Hand Welder & Finisher on 1st shift. The role offers a starting rate up to $24.00/hr ($49,920/yr) with overtime plus full health/dental/vision coverage and a 401(k) plan in a debt-free, ISO 9001:2015 certified environment.

You will weld, finish, grind, and inspect custom metal stampings, tooling fixtures, and prototypes.

Qualifications

• Experience with hand welding, metal finishing, grinding, and shop fabrication is preferred.
• Reliability with excellent attendance and safety record.
• Willingness to learn new fabrication techniques and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual hand welding (MIG/TIG/Arc) to join custom stampings and fixtures.
• Finish welds with grinders and deburrs, smoothing surfaces for final finishing.
• Inspect weld quality visually to meet ISO quality standards and customer specs.
• Set up and maintain welding fixtures, align workpieces, and keep workspace 5S compliant.
• Support production goals by collaborating with supervisors and teammates and leveraging overtime when needed.

• Pay & Incentives: Up to $24.00/hr starting rate ($49,920/yr base equivalent scaling directly with experience) + high-volume overtime availability, full health/dental/vision coverage, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
• Work Pattern/Schedule: Dedicated 1st Shift schedule (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM / standard 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday). Optional half-day Saturdays available during high production volume.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

• Execute Hand Welding: Perform manual hand welding (MIG/TIG/Arc) to join custom metal stampings, forming dies, fixtures, prototypes, and laser-cut assemblies.
• Perform Metal Finishing & Grinding: Utilize pneumatic and electric grinders, sanders, and deburring tools to smooth welds, blend seams, remove flash, and prepare metal surfaces for final finishing.
• Inspect Weld Quality: Audit completed weld joints and structural fabrications visually to ensure compliance with strict ISO quality standards and customer specifications.
• Maintain Fixtures & Workstations: Set up, align, and maintain manual welding fixtures, positioning equipment, and hand tools while upholding clean 5S shop organization.
• Support Team Production Goals: Collaborate with supervisors and shop floor teammates to keep high-priority production runs on schedule, taking advantage of optional overtime hours during peak manufacturing demands.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Welding & Finishing Background: Practical exposure or background in hand welding, metal grinding, deburring, or shop fabrication preferred (willing to train candidates with exceptional mechanical aptitude and work ethic).
