Job summary

Florida-Orthopaedic-Institute in Riverview, FL, seeks an Occupational Therapist specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation to join our growing team.

You will evaluate patients, develop plans of care, deliver hands-on treatments, and fabricate custom splints while coordinating with physicians and other therapists. Strong collaboration and patient-centered care are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• NBCOT-OTR certification required.
• Licensed by the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong splinting skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage therapy patients, identifying functional limitations and setting treatment goals.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans of care.
• Deliver hands-on treatments and advanced therapeutic interventions.
• Fabricate and fit custom splints and orthoses.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, PTs, PTAs, and other therapy team members.
• Document patient evaluations, progress, treatments, and outcomes in compliance with clinical standards.
• Provide patient and family education on injury, recovery expectations, and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate in community education and research opportunities to advance occupational therapy practice.
• Provide additional coverage at FOI locations as needed.
