Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred).
• No prior experience required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under supervision for up to 6 months).
• Mandatory Reporter
• BLS
• FIM
• Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable MVR (required for Outpt Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Contract Therapy)

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment techniques competently.
• Conducts patient assessment.
• Develops treatment plans for patients.
• Communicates relevant patient information.
• Provides education to patients and families.
• Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel.
• Supervises students and volunteers.
• Provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies.
