Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, seeks a Hand Therapist (OT or PT) to rehabilitate hand and upper extremity conditions from trauma, surgery, or chronic disorders. You will work with referring clinicians to evaluate, treat, and restore function through personalized therapy plans, including postop care and preventative strategies.

Eligibility requires a BS or higher in OT/PT, MA licensure, CHT eligibility, BLS, 2+ years' experience, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited OT or PT program.
• Licensed by the state of Massachusetts as an OT or PT.
• Advanced certification or eligibility for Certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
• 2+ years of related experience.
• Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience.
• Proven solid interpersonal skills and sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
• Proven excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in rehabilitating patients with hand and upper extremity conditions through advanced therapeutic techniques.
• Treat individuals affected by trauma, surgery, or chronic disorders such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and neurological conditions.
• Evaluate and identify functional impairments in the upper extremities.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including postoperative, preventative, non-operative, or conservative care.
• Collaborate with referring clinicians to ensure continuity and effectiveness of patient care.
