Job summary

Supercuts in Tallmadge, OH is seeking Stylist-in-Training to join our team onsite. You will provide color and styling services, consult with clients, and participate in local marketing initiatives to grow your clientele.

This role involves flexible shifts, ongoing education, and the potential for career advancement within Regis. A valid cosmetology license or being within 90 days of graduation is required.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology or barber license (or within 90 days of graduation).
• Willingness to complete Regis training and Hair Stylist Academy program.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services by consulting with clients and applying techniques.
• Educate clients about home hair care and product recommendations.
• Assist in local marketing initiatives and client appreciation events.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and build client loyalty.
• Complete administrative tasks and schedule appointments in the POS system.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow salon policies.
• Attend required technical training sessions.
• Follow Regis policies.

Job Duties

• Some of the below Job Duties may not be applicable to the Stylist-in-Training position.
• Provide quality services by consulting with clients and applying the appropriate service techniques.
• Recommend and participate in all approved local marketing initiatives including depth and frequency of coupon campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and client appreciation events.
• Educate clients about proper home hair care and recommend services and products to help the client maintain their hairstyle between salon visits.
• Employ best practices for customer service, ensuring each client’s satisfaction and building client loyalty.
• Provide quality consultations with each client, including stating the final price before the service begins.
• Complete all required administrative tasks (i.e., closing out a ticket on the POS system and scheduling appointments) promptly.
• Communicate effectively and positively with all clients, team members, leaders, and the corporate support team.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards set by Regis.
• Being willing and able to perform all services offered at the salon.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduled shifts to fit the needs of the business, including potential night and weekend shifts.
• Attend all required technical training sessions.
• Follow Regis policies as defined in the Handbook and salon specific operational procedures (including but not limited to bank deposits/runs, salon cleaning/maintenance, and disinfecting styling implements).

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Work as a team-player and/or independently.
• Market yourself in the community and salon to increase your clientele.
• Possess exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit consistent and excellent customer service skills.
• Multi-task efficiently to complete salon duties.
• Show a willingness to learn new techniques and stay current with hair trends.
• The physical requirements of the position may require bending, sitting, twisting, turning, lifting (generally 10-15 pounds), and/or standing for extended periods of time.

Experience

• Stylist-in-Training – Graduated 90 days or less away from graduating from cosmetology school.
• Stylist – possession of a valid, current cosmetology or barber’s license.

Education

• Must maintain a valid cosmetology or barber’s license (or 90 days or less from graduating).
• All Stylists/Stylists-in-Training are required to complete assigned training as determined by Regis.
• *All Supercuts (SC) Stylists/Stylists-in-Training must participate in the Hair Stylist Academy (HSA) program and receive a certificate of completion.

Work Location - Onsite at Salon Location.
