Job Duties

Some of the below Job Duties may not be applicable to the Stylist‑in‑Training position.

• Provide quality services by consulting with clients and applying the appropriate service techniques.
• Recommend and participate in all approved local marketing initiatives including depth and frequency of coupon campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and client appreciation events.
• Educate clients about proper home hair care and recommend services and products to help them maintain their hairstyle between salon visits.
• Employ best practices for customer service, ensuring each client’s satisfaction and building client loyalty.
• Provide quality consultations with each client, including stating the final price before service begins.
• Complete all required administrative tasks (e.g., closing out a ticket on the POS system and scheduling appointments) promptly.
• Communicate effectively and positively with all clients, team members, leaders, and the corporate support team.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards set by Regis.
• Be willing and able to perform all services offered at the salon.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduled shifts to fit the needs of the business, including potential night and weekend shifts.
• Attend all required technical training sessions.
• Follow Regis policies as defined in the Handbook and salon‑specific operational procedures (including but not limited to bank deposits/runs, salon cleaning/maintenance, and disinfecting styling implements).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Work as a team‑player and/or independently.
• Market yourself in the community and salon to increase your clientele.
• Possess exceptional communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Exhibit consistent and excellent customer service skills.
• Multi‑task efficiently to complete salon duties.
• Show a willingness to learn new techniques and stay current with hair trends.
• The physical requirements of the position may require bending, sitting, twisting, turning, lifting (generally 10‑15 pounds), and/or standing for extended periods of time.

Experience

• Stylist‑in‑Training – Graduate within 90 days or less from graduating from cosmetology school.
• Stylist – Possession of a valid, current cosmetology or barber’s license.

Education

• Must maintain a valid cosmetology or barber’s license (or within 90 days of graduating).
• All Stylists/Stylists‑in‑Training are required to complete assigned training as determined by Regis.
• All Supercuts (SC) Stylists/Stylists‑in‑Training must participate in the Hair Stylist Academy (HSA) program and receive a certificate of completion.

Work Location

• The Stylist role is based at a Regis (Supercuts, Holiday Hair, or Cost Cutters) salon location.
