Job summary

ManpowerGroup, parent company of Experis, is seeking a Hadoop Developer to join a data-driven engineering team in Charlotte, NC. The role requires hands-on Hadoop experience, SQL proficiency, and scripting in Linux environments, with hybrid work (3 days onsite).

The position focuses on designing and delivering complex big data solutions, building automated test suites, and collaborating across the delivery lifecycle in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Strong database and SQL skills.
• Good understanding of the Hadoop Big Data ecosystem.
• Experience writing Shell scripts in Linux/Unix.
• Hands‑on Hadoop and related tooling, including Hadoop/Spark (Pig and Hive queries, analyzing data with Hive, and using Oozie).
• Experience with data movement and processing, including Sqoop for importing/exporting between HDFS and relational databases, plus developing MapReduce programs to format data.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex requirements to achieve business outcomes while meeting functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to story refinement and help define requirements through the delivery lifecycle.
• Estimate work needed to realize stories/requirements and perform spike/proof of concept activities to mitigate risk or validate new ideas.
• Code solutions and unit tests aligned to acceptance criteria, ensuring maintainability and ease of integration and testing from the outset.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance) to support reliable releases.

As a Hadoop Developer, you will be part of a collaborative engineering group supporting delivery of complex big data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a hands‑on Hadoop mindset, and the communication ability to collaborate effectively across the delivery lifecycle.

Job Title: Hadoop Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)

Pay Range: $60-$65/hr
