Job summary

Saxon Global is looking for a Hadoop Admin to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will administer the Hadoop cluster, implement security measures, and troubleshoot performance issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hadoop Administration and UNIX/LINUX along with experience in user administration and high availability concepts. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a growing company.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot performance issues with teams.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.

Required Skills

• Hadoop Administration
• Security background (entitlement control – Kerberos or LDAP)
• Bonus: Hadoop tools (machine learning workflow, HA)

Responsibilities

• Administer the Hadoop cluster.
• Apply new versions and patches through Ambari.
• Implement security for Hadoop big projects.
• Assist Build team with environment requirements design and develop new processes for better maintenance of the environments.
• Help Application and Operations team troubleshoot performance issues.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Competent to complete most of the Big Data ecosystem admin and design tasks independently.
