Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - New Bern is seeking a Habilitation Manager to lead and coordinate care across our group home facilities in North Carolina.

You will supervise staff, conduct assessments, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet residents' medical and supportive needs. The role includes overseeing schedules, training, inspections, and daily operations, with on-call duties and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of group home operations.
• Understanding of Developmental Disabilities and Mental Illness.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
• Possess and maintain NC driver's license.
• Able to lift or move up to 40 lbs or more.
• Position has on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Complete initial/annual Habilitation Assessments.
• Implement in-services and monitor assigned objectives.
• Ensure personal appearance of all consumers is maintained according to LIFE, Inc. standards.
• Assure medical needs of each assigned consumer are met through medication checks, order medications as instructed, and schedule/transport clients to appointments as needed.
• Monitor operations of all facilities to include cleanliness, maintain facility equipment, and ensure safe working conditions.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced and well maintained.
• Schedule and maintain all yearly inspections (fire and sanitation).
• Monitor and maintain adequate emergency food and supplies as well as daily needed supplies.
• Assist with needed disciplinary action to ensure compliance with LIFE, Inc. policies and procedures.
• Assist with the training of new employees to include general orientation and on-going training.
• Conduct performance appraisals with measurable feedback and actions.
• Ensure implementation of LIFE, Inc. policies for operation of facilities and supervision of DSP staff.
• Complete required inspections and observations as outlined by LIFE, Inc. policies.
• Develop staff work schedules to comply with wage/hour laws and ICF/IID requirements.
• Approve PTO requests and ensure proper coverage for each group home.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and monitor as needed.
• Make necessary purchases to maintain household inventory.
• Monitor DSP schedules and work hours.
• Approve DSP's timesheets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required Knowledge: Meet the requirements of DSP's.
• Thorough knowledge of group home operations.
• Understanding of Developmental Disabilities and Mental Illness.
• Understanding of employee relations and management operations.
• Experience Required: Supervisory experience (preferred).
• Experience in Human Services field.
• Skills / Abilities: Excellent leadership and human relation abilities.
• Able to organize, coordinate, and direct daily operations.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible work schedule.
• Possess and maintain NC driver's license.
• Able to lift or move up to 40 lbs or more.
• Able to bend, lift, turn, and respond quickly
• May be exposed to blood and bodily fluids at times.Position has on-call requirements.
