Job summary

WSB is seeking an H&H Specialist to support our water resources team in Minneapolis. The role focuses on hydrology and hydraulics modeling for stormwater projects using PCSWM, XPSWMM, HECRAS, and other tools, plus design calculations and reports.

You will help oversee engineering technicians, develop project approaches, and coordinate budgets and schedules while pursuing new work from existing and new clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
• 4-10 years of experience in Water Resources or related field.
• Minnesota PE license preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in various locations.

Responsibilities

• Work on Stormwater and Water Resource projects focusing on H&H modeling with PCSWM, XPSWMM, HECRAS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, P8.
• Perform design calculations, cost estimates, and various design development tasks.
• May compile, write, and edit technical reports, feasibility studies, letters, memos and specifications.
• May oversee the work of Engineering Technicians and graduate engineers.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to meet timeframes and budgets; lead multiple teams and pursue new client work.

What You Will Do:

H&H Specialist, you will play a supporting role:

• Work on various Stormwater and Water Resource related projects with a primary focus on H&H modeling in various platforms including: PCSWM, XPSWMM, HECRAS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, P8, and others as applicable.
• Performing specific design calculations, cost estimates, and various aspects of design development.
• May compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, feasibility reports, letters, memos and specifications on Water Resources projects.
• May oversee the work of Engineering Technicians and graduate engineers.

As you advance in your career:

• You may also plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure that H&H models and water resources projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets.
• You will also lead multiple work teams, manage multiple complex projects, identify new projects, formulate project approaches, lead the proposal process, formulate, track and meet project budgets and schedules, and market to and secure work from new and existing clients.

Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.

What You Will Bring:

The successful candidate must have:

• A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school and 4-10 years of experience in Water Resources or related field.
• Preferred candidate will have their Minnesota PE but it is not required.
• Must possess a valid drivers license along with a clean driving record and have the ability to work in a variety of locations.
