UMass Memorial Health Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, MA is recruiting a Gynecologist to join a team providing comprehensive gynecologic care, including preventive exams and evaluation of reproductive health concerns. The role involves patient visits, teaching, collaboration with consultants, and on-call duties to support ambulatory, ER, and inpatient services.

• Doctoral degree (MD or DO) required.
• Massachusetts state medical license and federal DEA registration required.
• Board eligible or board certified in gynecology.

Responsibilities

• Provides gynecology services including new patient visits, follow-up visits, urgent visits, and annual visits.
• Provides counseling and teaching related to disease management and prevention for patients and families.
• Performs comprehensive care including history, examination, and ordering tests to formulate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Collaborates and communicates with consultants.
• Serves as a resource for training and orientation of new colleagues.
• Manages in-basket tasks to provide safe, timely patient care and communicates with staff and providers.
• Completes outstanding medical records and provides on-call services as needed.
• Provides ER and inpatient call services if required by hospital privileging.
• Maintains credentials including licensure and board certifications.
• Contributes to quality improvement and adheres to policies; may supervise APPs.

Hiring Range: $270,000 - $300,000

Harrington Hospital in Southbridge is in search of a Gynecologist. We are looking for a physician who embodies the mission and values of Harrington Hospital. Join our team of exceptional and talented gynecologists who offers complete gynecologic care, including prevention and wellness exams that catch the early signs of certain cancers and other chronic issues. If our patients are experiencing symptoms of a reproductive health concern, we perform thorough evaluations to pinpoint the cause. Our focus is to help many patients achieve excellent results with standard therapies.

Major Responsibilities

• Provides services commensurate with the specialty of the physician including new patient visits, follow up visits, urgent visits, and annual visits.


• Provides counseling and teaching, related to the management and prevention of disease, for patients and family members.


• Provides comprehensive care as needed including, complete history and physical examination, review of the available medical record, ordering of appropriate laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic testing to formulate diagnoses and treatment plan.


• Collaborates and communicates with consultants.


• Serves as a resource for the training and orientation of new colleagues.


• Manages in-basket tasks to provide safe, effective, and timely care for the patient and communicate effectively with staff and provider colleagues.


• Promptly completes all outstanding medical records as required by the needs of department and UMMMG.


• Provides on call services commensurate with needs of the ambulatory practice.


• Provides ER call services and inpatient call services if required by any hospital delineation of privileges.


• Actively maintains all required credentials, including state licensure and board certifications.


• Demonstrates a commitment to on-going quality improvement; complies with institutional and departmental policies and procedures; complies with health and safety regulations; performs other similar and related duties as required and directed.


• This role may involve supervision and or training of advanced practice providers (APPs).

Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree, MD or DO required


• Current or eligibility for Massachusetts State License, Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration.


• Board eligible or board certified in gynecology
