Job description

MedStar Health is expanding its cancer service line throughout the Baltimore-Washington, DC region and is hiring an experienced Gynecologic Oncologist to join our MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center facility located in Baltimore, Maryland.

You will work out of the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at Franklin Square Hospital with support from a nurse navigator and midlevel provider, assisting in managing a rewarding surgical practice and chemotherapy administration, if desired.

MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at Franklin Square has membership in NRG for gynecologic oncology clinical trials and access to additional cooperative group trials and industry-sponsored trials through our affiliation with the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital. There are opportunities for a clinical appointment with Georgetown University School of Medicine and to teach Georgetown Medical Students.

Joining MedStar Gynecologic Oncology means becoming part of a collaborative network of nationally acclaimed physicians who meet routinely to discuss patient management in weekly tumor board meetings. Our clinical partnership extends outside gynecologic oncology to radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, palliative care, and other specialties and support services within the institution.

This is a great opportunity to grow the gynecologic oncology presence at MedStar Health and in the Baltimore communities. Our goal is to have two gynecologic oncologists and an advanced practice provider supporting our service line growth plan.

Responsibilities include:

1. Consultations and treatment of women with gynecologic cancers including uterine, cervical, ovarian, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.
2. Access to DaVinci Xi robotic surgery system, dedicated OR time, and co-leading a busy ambulatory practice.
3. Participation in tumor board, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and involvement in hospital and system-wide service line committees and projects.

Requirements:

• MD or DO degree with subspecialty training and certification in Gynecologic Oncology (Fellowship trained)
• American Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology
• Valid and unrestricted Maryland medical license
