Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare invites a Fellowship-trained Gynecologic Oncologist to join our Oncology program and start a practice at the Piedmont Augusta Hospital facility in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter from a top-tier fellowship program and will grow a practice within the Piedmont Oncology Service line.

Board certification or eligibility is required, with a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained Gynecologic Oncology practitioner from a top-tier program preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility in gynecologic oncology is required or expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform consultations and evaluations of patients.
• Recommend and perform gynecologic oncologic procedures including minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
• Develop and oversee patient treatment plans including chemotherapy, radiation, and palliative care.
• Participate in community education and cancer survivor support initiatives.
• Conduct hospital rounds on inpatients including surgical floors and ICUs.
• Communicate patient condition changes to physicians and coordinate care.
• Collaborate with nursing, radiology, pharmacy and other service lines in the hospital.
• Document assessments and progress notes for inpatients.

Piedmont Healthcare has a great opportunity for a Fellowship trained Gynecological Oncologist to join our Oncology program and start a practice at our Piedmont Augusta Hospital facility in Augusta, GA.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, from a top tiered Fellowship program, ready to grow a practice and become part of the Piedmont Oncology Service line which currently employs 5 Gynecologic Oncologist serving patients at Piedmont Healthcare facilities throughout the state of Georgia with plans for future expansion of the specialty. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in the specialties and committed to providing high-quality patient centered care. This is a full-time position. Fellows with outstanding references accepted.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Perform consultations and evaluations of patients
• Recommend and perform appropriate surgical procedures including minimally invasive and robotic surgery
• Prepare and oversee patient oncology treatment plans. Including; chemotherapy, radiation, and palliative care
• Participate in community education and cancer survivor support network development
• Perform hospital rounds on inpatients to include surgical floor and intensive care units
• Communicate patient condition changes to physician and coordinate care
• Interact with nursing staff, pharmacy, radiology and other service lines in hospital
• Perform H&Ps, consults, and write progress notes on inpatients
