Job summary

The Little Gym of Silver Spring is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead and assist gymnastics classes for children from infants to pre-teens, following our proven curriculum.

You’ll create a fun, safe, and educational environment, engage families, and deliver outstanding service while helping kids gain confidence and physical skills through movement-based learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with teaching or coaching children in an activity setting.
• Comfort with movement-based learning and following a curriculum.
• Ability to foster a safe, fun, and educational class environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist gymnastics classes for children aged 4 months to 12 years, following lesson plans.
• Create a warm, engaging, and educational atmosphere in every class.
• Maintain safety practices and proper equipment use while teaching.

What We Expect From You...

• Introduce kids to the serious fun of education and play, all within The Little Gym's unique learning environment.
• Teach amazing classes based on our proven curriculum and teaching method (don’t worry, we’ll teach you how!)
• Create a warm, fun, and educational environment for the Children in each class.
• Treat each class and each child as if it’s their first day – EVERY WEEK!
• Provide outstanding customer service and membership experience. We treat our members like family here.
• Lead/Assist gymnastics classes for children aged 4 months to 12 years, ensuring lesson plans are carefully followed
• Work with children accommodating various ability levels, promoting skill advancement, self-confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
• Evaluate and track students' progress, offer tailored feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
• Foster a supportive, energetic, and positive class atmosphere that encourages student involvement and a love for gymnastics.
• Adhere to safety protocols and best practices, including correct equipment use and spotting techniques, to ensure student safety.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gymnastics area and equipment.
• Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to refine teaching skills and stay current with gymnastics trends.
