Job summary

Minot Scheels is hiring for a customer-facing associate at our store. You will greet customers, provide personalized service, and ensure all merchandise is scanned and paid for before leaving the store. You will promote the Scheels Visa card and assist with firearm-related transactions in compliance with ATF regulations.

The ideal candidate is at least 21, with a high school diploma or GED and some cashiering experience. We offer comprehensive benefits and employee ownership through ESOP.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store.
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service.
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing and ensure proper payment.
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain benefits.
• Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases.
• Complete firearm background checks.
• Assist with Gun Room housekeeping.
• Follow ATF laws and guidelines.
• Execute technology-based processes for firearm transactions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
• Complete firearm background checks
• Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
• Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed
• Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
• All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

Must be 21 Years of Age

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
