Job summary

CAE is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor to join our Maintenance Training Center of Excellence in Savannah, GA. The role focuses on delivering Gulfstream G700 maintenance training through classroom and hands-on sessions, leveraging training devices and simulations.

You will maintain rigorous records and contribute to courseware as a SME. The ideal candidate has hands-on Gulfstream maintenance experience, strong English communication, and a passion for knowledge sharing.

Job description

CAE is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor to join our Maintenance Training Center of Excellence. This position is based in Savannah and supports the delivery of aircraft maintenance training for the Gulfstream G700 platform. CAE provides a comprehensive training program to help transform experienced maintenance professionals into world-class instructors and subject matter experts. This role combines technical expertise, customer interaction, and instructional delivery to support aviation maintenance professionals throughout their training journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial development of the G700 maintenance training
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on maintenance training using aircraft, training devices, and simulation tools.
  • Administer theoretical examinations and practical assessments as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all customer training activities.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development, review, and maintenance of instructor materials and customer courseware.
  • Support the development of new training courses and instructional modules.
  • Prepare training environments and materials prior to course delivery.
  • Maintain technical proficiency and complete all required recurrent training.
  • Deliver a professional, engaging, and customer-focused learning experience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve training programs and course content.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, including strong mechanical systems experience on the Gulfstream G700 platform.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures, systems, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Valid FAA A&P, Transport Canada AME, EASA, or equivalent aircraft maintenance license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet-based tools.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and passion for knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse global team.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% as required.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during instruction or demonstrations.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry training equipment or aircraft components up to 25-30 lbs (11-14 kg).
  • Ability to climb stairs and access training devices or aircraft areas as required.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods while developing or updating training materials.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30-40%, which may include long flights and extended periods in classrooms or customer sites.
  • Must have sufficient mobility, vision, and dexterity to operate training devices, classroom equipment, and relevant tools safely.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or maintaining aircraft avionics systems.
  • Previous instructional, coaching, mentoring, or aviation training experience.
  • Experience developing or supporting technical training programs.
  • Experience in business aviation maintenance environments.
  • Strong presentation and classroom facilitation skills.
