Job summary

The Guitar Center Company is seeking a Music Teacher in Oakdale, Minnesota. In this position, you will teach music lessons, help increase student enrollment, and foster a love for music. Job description

Pay Rate

$11.41/hr - $14.91/hr Non-Teaching Rate and up to $21.68/hr Total Teaching Rate depending on background and experience.

About the Role

As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will work to increase student enrollment, ensure each student continues to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music, while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
  • Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
  • Assist with customer service as needed, helping build and maintain long‑term students by creating a great experience.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Partner with all students and families through frequent communication, building trusting relationships, and embracing parental knowledge.
  • Communicate progress of each student to parents and/or students.
  • Share students’ goals and progress frequently.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
  • Ability to teach an instrument you are proficient in such as drums, guitar, keyboard, etc.
  • Skilled ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area you will be teaching.
