Job summary

School of Rock is seeking a Guitar Instructor for its Rockwall location. You will oversee all music education aspects within lessons and rehearsals, delivering a dynamic experience that challenges and inspires students while embodying the School of Rock ethos.

The role emphasizes creating thoughtful lesson plans, maintaining strong parent communication, and participating in performances to showcase student progress. A passion for teaching and professional music experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Solid knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Strong ability to manage a diverse set of customers and people.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Strong customer relations and communication abilities.
• Able to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction across private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not only songs.

We are looking for a Guitar Instructor to join us at our School of Rock Rockwall location.

Role Summary

As a guitar instructor, you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within the lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. The Guitar Instructor/teacher positively embodies rock and roll and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and life skills.

Music Instruction

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans

Customer Connection

• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
• Pitch in during cancelled lessons in the overall execution of the program
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

Skill Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
• Strong organizational skills
• Very strong customer relations skills
• Resourceful and good problem‑solver
• Works well under pressure
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
